It came from the factory with Xantex XM1000 inverter installed over the dinette that powers the overcab outlet (TV). Does that mean it probably has a pass-through?
The XM1000 says nothing about charging on it.
The converter is in the rear bedroom. If I understand correctly, that converter is what charges the batteries when the rig is on shore power (or generator?).
So that's what I think I really have right now...an inverter only and a converter that also charges the battery when on shore power. (But I could be completely wrong about it...I'm still learning all this!)
And what I think you're saying is that there's a direct link between the battery and the 12V system that doesn't go through the converter so the normal 12V lights and such will have power when I have the shore cable plugged into the inverter. Correct?
I'm still not clear on how the batteries get charged, with that setup, when I'm plugged into the pedestal. Seems like there has to be another connection from the converter to the battery bank for that to happen.
