If I am readding your post right, are you planning on running an Electric heater off the inverter? A space heat will kill your bank fast. You better think again about that. The bank will not last long doing that.
Sort of. I did my first calculations with two 1500W electric heaters, but I forgot to multiply by 10 for the 120V...so that's why I made the "maxed out the energy audit" comment above, and why I asked pianotuna how he stays within his energy capacity while using electric heat.
So I'm going big enough on the battery (and solar at some point) to have all the conveniences I want to use...and any extra capacity can go towards things like electric heaters at dawn to bring the temp back up.
But at some point I'll look into low wattage electric heaters. It's hard to camp in Colorado winters without lots of heat, and I can only carry enough propane for ~3 days depending on temps and how long we're actually in the rig. (I do have a propane adapter so I can add swappable tanks if necessary.) So when I don't have shore power, I'll need an electric supplement like a low wattage heater.
But the 1500W Pelonis ceramic heaters are awesome for shore power...especially at their size and the amount of noise they (don't) create.
