Hi Jeff,
Leave the OEM converter in place. Add another one closer to the "new" battery bank. Make sure the additional charging source is protected via a circuit breaker. When there is adequate shore power you may find that the two converters may "play well" together.
"Mr. Battery Charger" on the forums is BFL13--he has used up to five charging sources at one time if I remember correctly.

The battery station is near the shore power box, and there's a 120V junction box there. Would it make sense to run a 120V wire from that junction box to a new 3-stage charger at the new battery location? Just bypass that converter for battery charging purposes.
