Thanks everyone for the comments. I'll research a little more.
The run of cable should be only a 3-5 feet total, depending on how the platform works out. I think I can mount it right next to the batteries, so I'm really only looking at enough wire to balance the batteries, install the fuse and switch, and make good connections. Even so, since bigger is better, what gauge would you recommend for this?
The remote panel would let me operate the inverter and monitor the batteries from inside the cabin. I just picked that one because it was matched to the inverter. Why is the Victron better?
Separate components makes since in case one fails. Is that the only advantage?
