The one thing to remember is amps=watts divided by volts. it means a 6amp apartment type fridge (for 120volts) will draw 60amps upon start from a 12volt inverter. This I figured in to my larger apartment type fridge to replace my cooked R.V. fridge(due to high ok. temps). when the fridge starts there is a very high draw, running however is a relatively low draw. Therefore the truck alternator keeps up fine until we get to shore power. If we had a good gas fridge she would run all the microwave use(minimal) and T.V.(also minimal) on the little battery backup I have, without running the genset.Any amps at 120 volts through an inverter is multiplied by 10 in order to see the initial draw on 12 volts.(in ideal situation).
