Do transfer switches generally give priority to shore power or generator?
I assume it's shore power but the wires back there are a mess so it's hard to tell what's what. If that's the case, and I put the inverter on the shore power line (because of the pass-thru), then it will always have power and the generator won't trip the ATS until the batteries die.
The reason this is a problem is b/c I had planned on running the generator when I use the microwave for more than a couple minutes, so it doesn't drain the batteries and I don't have to wait for recharge. But if the ATS doesn't switch, that won't work.
If the ATS prioritizes the generator over shore power, then it'll work just fine.
I wonder why they put all this stuff in the back bedroom where there are long runs of wire from the power sources to the distro center and back to the outlets.
