Hi Jeff,
AGM's don't USUALLY gas, but when they do they are possibly more dangerous than flooded. If you put them under the bed then they must be in a sealed containment that is vented to the great outdoors.
They are subject to thermal runaway, should something go wrong with the charging system.
I'd prefer to have them outside my living space.
