- T18skyguyExplorerI use either Wix or Mobil 1. Mobil 1 filters are made by Champion; the same company that makes them for airplanes. Never heard of an aircraft having any trouble with a Champion filter. Their really strong.

Agreed, except I would change the video title to "The Worst Oil Filter Analysis Ever!" Why? Not one word about the oil filter medias actual filtration abilities. (test results please) Hummmm. If you are going to do an oil filter analysis video, why leave out the most important part? On some applications, the anti drain back valve function is important too. (He is right there, Fram is horrible) But, you can't test that visually! This guy is all caught up on surface rust. A non issue IMO.
Chum lee - Cummins12V98Explorer IIIIf buying the FleetGuard be sure to get the StrataPore. Mopar is NOT available with the StrataPore filter media.
I am switching from the FG StrataPore to the Donaldson Made AMZ/OIL filter. Nothing wrong with the FG its actually a very high quality filter. The AMZ/OIL/Donaldson is simply better flow and filtration. - rhagfoExplorer IIII just want to add for those that use oil filters other than Fleetguard filters on your CTD. Changed the oil on DD 2004 Ram 3500 DRW CTD today, last change before she bought was done at an Oil Change shop. Take a look at the size difference in supply holes! The Fleetguard are much larger, more oil flow, less restriction.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerDonaldson, has always been a top tier manufacturer for air filters. They also manufacture specialty non automotive filters for military and industry. Their big rig filters are so sturdy there is a huge demand for used filters that are 'washed' and resold. Dubious?
And from the Donaldson Website (verbatim)
Our Products
"We deliver fuel, lube, coolant and air intake filters for diesel engines, hydraulic and bulk tank filtration – plus exhaust system components."
Site does not imply country of manufacture or outsourcing. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

FRAM is pure JUNK. They have bought many Cummins engines from rubber coming loose and plugging piston cooling nozzles.
Wix and NAPA Gold are ok but if you want top quality buy FleetGuard Stratapore or Donaldson. Donaldson makes the AMZ/OIL filters and are superior to the FleetGuard Stratapore.
Donaldson don't make filters, they sub them out.
Please tell who does.
STILL WAITING..................
"Donaldson has a plant in Minnesota where they now manufacture their own top selling heavy duty filters." - theoldwizard1Explorer IINo surprises from other videos about oil filter. Wix is usually #1 and Purolator #2. Both of these companies manufacture for other brands.
The sad thing is, 20 or 30 years ago Fram was a top filter manufacturer. Now them almost always come up last. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Brands get bought out and made cheaper to maximize profitability Not just oil filters but everything. I ahven't kept up but Fram went from best/better to an also ran many years ago. Maybe they re back to number1. Engines survive still.
The Cat Filter is the same forever it seems. I was able to find them military surplus helicopter and other engine filters comprised of a metal housing and several cleanable and replaceable round small micron screens, Don't remember the specs, with rubber seals on the edges. Some still round as they fly Hueys still. - 4x4vanExplorer IIIThis is old news and is neither fair nor accurate.
