Ok this sounds like a POWER GEAR slide system or one like it
on my POWER gear I have a motor and transmission (Roughly centered under the slide) and off each side of the tranny is a round shaft with a 1/4" hole. a square shaft fits over that secured with a GRAD 8 BOLT, the bolt is long enough (2 or 2.5 inches) that you can not tighten the nut down you must washer it up (The NUT is Nylock by the way) This way only the SMOOTH part of the bolt takes stress.
The square shaft is in two telescoping parts, the other part goes over a ROUND shaft, with another quarter inch shear bolt
That shaft turns the gear via a Shear pin the pin in this case is one of 2 or 3 different sizes depending on your Slideout
Problems I've had to date
I've sheared all 4 of the quarter inch bolts so many times I buy 'em by the dozen. also washers and nylock nuts.
I've sheared one of the roll pins (Shaft to gear) twice, though the 2nd time I think it was because the technician put in the wrong size pin. (he admitted it)
And I've broken one gear shaft (We turned it around and am still using it)
I have a spare shaft on order, Should be here Tuesday along with a couple other parts.. Then on WED it's off to the races.
How to tell what is broken.. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SEE GEAR AND SHAFT (At least the part that sticks out past the rail
If Transmission is turning (it is) and square shaft is not Bolt at Tranny
If square shaft but not gear shaft, Bolt at gear
IF gear shaft but not gear Pin in gear
NOTE; a broken shaft.. Well that looks like a sheardd bolt till you grab hold.
NOTE two: On some Power Gear the motor and tranny is on one end But the big slides it will always be in the middle
