Heres the easy, SAFE way to rewind your awning.
Remove the arm from the side of the RV at the bottom...like you were going to use the arm as a post when awning is extended.
Use the arm as a lever to wind the spring back to its original tension. Facing the awning from the front, wind it counter-clockwise. When tension is correct, just replace the arm in its bracket on the side of the RV.
