Use the arm as a lever to wind the spring back to its original tension. Facing the awning from the front, wind it counter-clockwise. When tension is correct, just replace the arm in its bracket on the side of the RV.
WHO supports the rest of the awning/tube while you do that:h You still need a helper to support the tube. Also, you need to wind BOTH Torsions/arms. The rear will be clockwise standing at the rear looking forward and the Front will be counterclockwise standing at the front looking rearward. Doug
