shapeshifter, thats what I tried to explain to Anthony at Heartland RV. That the EMS was installed after the transfer switch, therefore the problem had to be after the EMS on the way into, the unit. he was too busy trying to figure out why the transfer switch wasnt damaged this time.
The tech did indeed turn off ALL breakers while his voltage/amp (?) meter was plugged into the microwave outlet. The microwave was one of the appliances blown. He would switch on one breaker at a time while checking meter for a change. He also pulled the breaker box out and wiggled the wires behind while checking meter. He pulled out the outlet in the bedroom that the blown tv was plugged into, and checked it. he found the loose wires under the kitchen slide junction box and fixed these. he said it could cause the problem, but didnt think so. But the checks he did above were after the wires in the junction box repaired.
We bought the pedestal sure protector to protect the unit AND the transfer switch, the wired in EMS was to protect everything else in case of another failure in the transfer switch. Since dealer said the first time we got blown appliances the switch was faulty and replaced under warranty but they INSISTED it could not have damaged the appliances. When I have an email from progressive dynamics stating the only symptoms you may have of open neutral is a series of blown appliances
