Open Neutral and Fridge says A
EDIT--sorry , I screwed up the OP at first, saying ground instead of neutral.
-----------
New one on me. First time on shore power after a long time on inverter with fridge on gas. Fridge said A after running a little while ok. Means no AC 120v to the fridge. Meanwhile I am running on shore power and the converter and a battery charger plugged in outside is running ok, so I do have 120v!
Tried my three -light tester in the fridge's receptacle outside. Says Open Neutral. Tried it in the other receptacles. Open Neutral. Snapped the surge guard on -off, all good but soon back to Open neutral. Drat. Tried main 30a breaker snapped on -off. Cleared up ok then soon came back to one light Open neutral.
Everything runs except the fridge. Oh well, hit Google and read up on Open neutral. Ah -ha I remembered I had maybe damaged where I have an extension cord plugged into a receptacle when the slide came in and bent things a bit before I caught it.
Did some squaring away at the receptacle bending wires back and forth (an RV receptacle with pokes in the wire instead of proper connections) and worked the extension cord wire too. Now all of a sudden everything is fine. No problem since-- two lights :) Fridge works. Still works two days later.
I have no idea why the Norcold fridge would not run with an Open neutral while everything else was happy. Anyway all fixed.
If your fridge ever says A might be the same thing!
