Okay. I'm starting to get it now. You have a couple of options.
Your original plan of putting the cable modem/router outside will work so long as you're not worried about anyone messing with it. I assume the cable modem/router also supplies WiFi. Just mount it where it's high and dry. No need to enclose it. Your signal in the RV will be just fine if you're parked in the car port and the modem/router is mounted somewhere in the vicinity.
If your cable modem/router is not WiFi enabled, then you'll need a separate wireless router or access point. Given the short distance you need to go, just about any inexpensive access point will do. Mount the modem/router where it's high and dry and plug the access point into it.
