Outside lights

Hi, I looking for a little help. The outside lights on my travel trailer will not turn off. We have to disconnect the battery from the camp to get the lights to turn off. Anybody know why this happened and How I can fix it.

Thanks
T

  • I had that problem - it was the remote controlled light. Switch won't turn it off if remote says ON.

WHAT lights? ... running lights or a light beside the entry door? :h

If you mean the running lights then clearly power on Pin 4 of your Bargman connector is getting to the running lights on Pin 3. If you mean an entry door light then I'd agree that the switch controlling power to this light is shorting out so power is reaching the light.

Please clarify what you're talking about.
  • Odds are the wall switch has melted internally and the conracs are fused. Doug
  • Need a bit more info. There are more than a few lights on most exteriors. If the lamp is switched, there would have to be a problem with the switch or associated wiring to afford power to the lamp wires.
  • Do your lights operate via the remote? Check to make sure the remote is in off mode
  • Welcome to the forum.

More information is needed. What travel trailer do you have? (Year and make). Can we assume there is a switch for the lights and when you through the switch, the lights stay on? Are you sure that is the correct switch?
