As you may have surmised, every RV is wired differently. On my RV, every source of programming is available to the outside television connection, except for the DVD. The DVD is wired directly to the television set. For that reason, when I bought a small television for the bedroom, I bought one with a built-in DVD player. That way I can watch a DVD in either location. As a side benefit, if I ever use a television on the outside coax, it will be the small one from the bedroom, bringing its own built-in DVD player.
Of course, in the last 8 years of camping, I have never had occasion to use a television outside.
