- LetsRVExplorerSorry can't answer your question as far as what paint to use. I suggest you ask at an auto body shop and see what they might recommend. Or even ask at an RV repair shop.
I can say that we had all the decals removed from our 2001 motorhome and then painted back on. The cost was very reasonable and the MH looked almost brand new when they got done. - EscargotExplorerI've been thinking about the same thing but finally settled on peeling the 15" x 24" segment of decal from the one weathered side of my PW.
I'm going to trace the existing design to use as a template, then peel the decal, prep and prime the area, and airbrush or just use spray paint from a can to paint it. I'll handpaint the edge outline to clean up the expected ragged edges.
My guess for painting over decals would be to use paint used on plastic. This is only a guess though.
