The "working voltage" on the panel to controller path should be Vmp when the controller is in MPPT mode, but once it is in Absorption or Float, that voltage could be higher.
But who cares if you have line loss then? Amps are tapering or at a trickle. If running a load you will get higher amps to run that though.
