Parallax converter vs Progressive Dynamics

My Parallax converter Model 7455 has died. Should I replace it with another Parallax or switch to Progressive Dynamics PD 9260? More amps on Progressive-more charging stages- nearly half price. Will hookups be the same? Should I get the monitor with the Progressive?

  • Just swapped my wfco for the pro 9200 80amp in my new to me class a. I put one in my toyhauler and water depletion in my batteries went way down. I also had 5 yrs on my batts that were still going strong when I sold it thanks to that converter.
  • Did the PD9260 swap several years ago, very easy straight forward task. No more boiled house batteries. Get the Wizard pendant if it is not included in the deal.
  • The PD4655 is an easier replacement than the PD9260. Here are the directions for replacing the 7355 with the 9260. The 4655 is a drop in replacement.
  • Go with the Pro. Much better unit. Changed mine earlier this year.
I suggest taking pictures of the wiring before. Make sure you number all the wires. On mine they were all red or green.
  • I had the same set up as you, yes the pro is better easy hook up ,my 18teen yr old grandson and I did it in about two hrs, no problems. and it worked perfect. charges much better to.
