Thank you all for your input. It looks like I'll be shopping for equipment. I guess the tailgater and two receivers. I would like to be able to record.
Thanks again,
Mel
I highly recommend getting the Winegard Pathway X2 portable dish instead of the Tailgater. The X2 is capable of receiving the Dish eastern arc satellites as well as the western arc satellites, giving you more aiming options on sites with trees to work through or around. The Tailgater is only capable of receiving the western arc satellites. If you spend any time east of the Mississippi in particular, you'll find there are some TV markets where the local channels are only available on the eastern arc satellites, and other areas where the HD locals are only available on the eastern arc, with only the SD versions on the western arc.
Yeah I was reading about the X2 seems what I need if I want to use two receivers. Only complaints I read were about the size and wieght. But I can deal with that, if it means better service and two receivers. I realy don't want to just have one box in the living room. Something I forgot to ask. We have off grid property in Washington about 2 miles from the Canadian border. Will this present any problems? last year we were there for a month, our cell phones would work about 4 miles from our property, but verizon was acting like I was in Canada. I spent over an hour on the phone trying to staighten it out.
