The Iota graph shows how we must be careful in our terminology of battery "stages" vs converter programmed "stages."
The Iota converter was still in "boost" when the battery started to taper the amps, commencing its "absorption" stage. Later on, the converter dropped to its so-called "absorption voltage" of 14.2v as programmed.
