Thank you. When I get a chance, I'll check the RC timing component values on the PD9280 circuit board and look it up on the UC 3846 datasheet.
One thing I thought was interesting is that the UC3846 has a sync input so one chip can be master and another slaved to it.
I often think the engineers must be very frustrated. They know how to build a great design, but are limited by cost and management to what will sell. I'll pay for good design and quality, but it's often very hard to detect what really is good and what's just marketing hype.
