Originally R32 (point 1) connects to the filter capacitor located after the PWM stage. That voltage should be 13.7V. I added a 100 ohm resistor that now senses voltage directly at the batteries. The new diode is for safety. Should the bell wire open up we lose regulation and the converter would increase voltage to unsafe conditions. Should this happen, the diode conducts and limits max voltage to about 14.4 V. The circuit is bullet proof. ;-)
The mod more than doubled the performance of the Parallax 7345.
