I completely agree with you that the output current should not be tapering down at the same time the output voltage is creeping up.
Your Iota performance chart shows what it should look like. The converter should increase output voltage towards its boost voltage limit until it either reaches that voltage or runs into its maximum current limit. If it didn't reach the boost voltage limit, it should hold the maximum current until the output voltage has climbed to that voltage limit, and then current should taper.
If I see the same thing happening in my PD9280 that the Fisherguy chart shows, it will give me a solid problem to investigate. There's no reason I should see anything different from Fisherguy, but if you'd asked me how the PD worked, I would have predicted the performance shown in your Iota chart.
