I call BS. My Iota will NEVER NEVER NEVER drop out of boost in 20 minutes! I am going to do a test as soon as I can with 10 minute interval pics to put this point to bed once and for all. You PD guys are just way too bull headed.
Heh heh heh. To be honest, I've been leaning IOTA for many months now. But if it floats your boat...
Even Sal will admit that this phenomenon can happen under certain circumstances. The PD is certainly not immune to high resistance applications. The science is about as basic as it gets. The IOTA uses a trigger point. When that point is reached, it drops out of boost in about 20 minutes. All you need is a big, IOTA converter, a small battery and inadequate cabling or any combination of the above. It's not voodoo.
Even a larger bank... at, say 95%. You start the genny and thus the converter. Now you wouldn't want the IOTA to pump 55A of current into a nearly full bank for hours on end, would you?
It's a safety feature... that just happens to be a little less aggressive/safe than that of the PD. But with the benefit of faster charging in (probably) most circumstances.
Just be sure to post all your testing criteria, if you would, please.
