Vector (B&D) chargers do that all the time as normal.(but only for the absorption stage)
Vectors are programmed to taper the amps when battery voltage reaches 13.9v but voltage continues to rise throughout the absorption stage to approx 14.6 or for the newer models 14.8 temp compensated by the time amps are down to about 5amps.
I wasn't very clear, but what surprised me was that the PD chart Sal posted seemed to show the PD was immediately tapering current as soon as it was turned on.
If the Vectors are programmed to taper the amps when battery voltage reaches 13.9v, they'd presumably show current limited behavior until at least 13.9V is reached. That would be consistent with what the PD patents seem to say it does. The PD patents describe that they have a current limit It was the absence of any sign of a constant current mode at the beginning that I thought was odd.
