BFL - Can you tell me what kind of cables (gauge/length) you are using? The discharge recording I made on my batteries said I got to 225AH discharged out of the 460AH bank, so I should have been close to 50% SOC. I measured SG, so I can check that, too.
I'm still not convinced there's any significant difference between converter A holding 14.2 volts and Converter B holding 14.2 volts. If the PD is supplying less current, it's got to be supplying less voltage. That's something I can measure, but I don't see any circuitry in the PD that would intentionally cause it to taper limit current. I assume you think that if a PD 9260 was attached to my battery cables/system, it would taper down from 60A at the beginning, while I think it would stay current limited. You've got more experience than I looking at these converters, so I'll just collect more info on this and try to optimize my system.
I'm sure someone will eventually put two different converters on the same system to compare.
