It's probably worthwhile thinking about the fact that these are converters - intended as a power supply for our RVs. In that application, we often don't want the converter struggling to produce maximum current at maximum voltage. It's not good for the life of the converter and will produce excess heat and fan noise.
Our 12V appliances may not care all that much about voltage, and some may prefer closer to 12 volts than 14.8.
In the end, I may add a switch to go back to the original PD config when I'm not specifically running my gen to recharge my battery bank.
