Dream on! You'll be cooking the battery *if* you can get 80A charging current when they're only down 5 - 10% in capacity. I doubt you can achieve it. Battery resistance rises more than a factor 5 when at 90 to 95% SOC.
We'll be anxiously waiting for those test plots.
I would add the extra input cap. It should help. The inrush current should be OK. You could also change the dead zone from 20% to 10%. That would make a significant difference.
