Yep. Sal had noted this some time ago; Two entirely different algorithms in the PD and the IOTA, with some attention to safety, yield similar results when there is too much resistance. BFL's "Ugly Graph" comes off his Vectors. Nothing beats the Vector's algorithm, IMO, but with adequate cabling, the IOTA comes pretty close; especially for those who want to "set it... and forget it."
If you're not in any hurry, either the PD or IOTA will do you well enough. But if you want to really shorten your genny time, upgrade and/or shorten your cabling.
