Pages 12 and 13 of this thread have the patent number and copies of circuits from the patents. I'll post my mods, with some comments on opening up the PD9280 and photos of which resistor to modify (actually, you just have to place a resistor or trimpot in parallel with another resistor to change the boost voltage, so no desoldering is needed.)
Some of this is found in US patent number 7,782,002 which has a decent description of circuit operation. That patent does not describe the microprocessor control, which is where the voltage mod is made. There's another patent with that info, but I've described where to make the resistor change in the post below.
