pd4045ka converter section blown
Does anyone know what usually goes on the converter section of these? or how to fix it? I'm aware I can order a new one, but seems like a waste having to chuck the old one in the trash. I've alr...

What voltage are you getting ....over-voltage?
**Testing of converter DC Output must be done with Reverse Polarity Fuses removed and 120VAC Power ON
S/B 13.6VDC +/-
IF you are reading 14.6VDC ----check that the 'Output Mode Switch' is set to 'LA' and NOT 'L1'
If in 'LA' OR you don't have the Output Switch and getting high DC readings then circuit board is BAD
They are throw away items.....replace the converter section
**If you want after replacing you can spend time/effort going thru the circuit board components and find what has failed. Probably a 95 cent item available at Radio Shack. BUT you will NOT find any wiring schematics of that circuit board so trail/error
