Person lift...

Is ther anything made to lift a person from ground to camper. My wife can barely climb the steps to get into the 5th wheel but we would like to continue traveling with the camper. A lift would be a great help.
Thanks in advance!

  • Rather than standing on the lift platform, try this Coach Lift.

It's the fully engineered version of the Burr Industries screw platform lift, and has been installed (and easily removed) on hundreds of RVs around the world.

As for the toy hauler and scooters / powered wheelchairs, the ANSI standard is 1 foot of distance for every 1 inch of elevation. Based on that, you'd have to have a toy hauler ramp that's either about 18-20' high or hinged split in the middle! (DW is both a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a 30 year scooter user.)
  • We are both handicapped, and use scooters. No way would I ride a standard scooter up or down our toyhauler ramp. If you decide to look into it, take your scooter to a dealer a try it first!
  • Don't know how much a ' Handy-Lift' costs to purchase, install, or have removed later but it may be maybe worthwhile and simpler to switch to a toy hauler so she can use a scooter and enter/exit using the ramp. Also if the 5ver steps are causing trouble maybe getting in and out of the TV is or will soon be bothersome. You might consider a class B toyhauler.

  • Do a search for Handy-Lift RV electric lift,
Looks like it might be what you are looking for.
  • Yes there is. I saw something about this some years back on the 5er forum. Cannot remember the details, sorry. Might have been like those HappyJacks that lift slide-in campers
