Yes I have found some small local little CG's 'will' top it off but I have never had a gas station that offers propane ever top it off they follow the 80% rule.
And if anyone ever reported one of those little CG's that they topped off the tank to 100%.....they'd loose their license to dispense propane.
Propane expands. I know.
BEFORE the new regulator requirements I had a big BBQ tank filled up. And fill it up they did. I drove to go shopping and then a gas station to fill the truck up.
The gas expanded in the tank inside my van and started leaking into the vehicle parked next to a gas pump.
The rest is history on the front page of my local newspaper.
Hazmat, 4 buildings evacuated, fire department, police from 4 counties, and armored trucks where all on the scene to remove my bbq propane tank from my truck out into the middle of a 4 way closed intersection to disable a stupid BBQ propane tank. :R::R
Add insult to injury? The entire tactical team informed me It is illegal to transport a propane tank.
Ya, go figure. How else are you supposed to bring home a propane tank for your BBQ???:H
