As was mentioned, solar power is a great fit for a residential fridge in an RV.
Good advice. When I was looking at them last year, I found that an Energy Star rated unit was about $100 more but used considerably less power. If your going to run it on a battery for any length of time then an efficient unit is money well spent.
I would also add as much insulation as possible during the install.
