I plug my shore power into my inverter and claim it is the simplest solution. But I admit I have occasionally wished it was a slicker transfer switch type of setup so I could have AC power to the whole camper while traveling. But I call it the simplest in terms least amount of install work required. The camper is already wired for AC, so just provide it some AC by plugging the shore power cable into the inverter. No need to rewire anything, except for maybe having to move the converter power supply to its own dedicated breaker so you can have it switched off.
When discussing using a generator for AC, even a small generator, no one says you need to rewire the camper for dedicated outlets that receive power from only the generator. I see using an inverter in the same manner. Of course, the inverter is draining your battery while you use it. But I hope that is understood.
OP mentions in the very first post why they want an inverter and that solar is on the way.
