On the subject of switching your Progressive EMS to "bypass" - that does NOT remove the surge protection portion of the device from the signal path and still leaves the MOVs in that circuit vulnerable to damage, particularly from any non-sinusoidal waveform. The only way you can fully protect your EMS from any potential damage is to physically remove it or completely switch it out of the system.
