I've done a lot of work on the camper, so I thought I'd update this thread. I have installed two 250 watt Renogy panels, charging 6 205 AH batteries for a 12 volt battery bank of 615 amp hours. I'm using this Microsolar inverter. It works fine, but will not run the 900 watt microwave. I put a killowatt meter on the microwave, and later on the shore power plug itself. The microwave is drawing about 1325 watts and the shore power plug pulls about 1370 with nothing but the microwave and various power lights for things like the propane leak sensor, dvd player, etc (not the appliances themselves).
Now, I really want to use the microwave, so as I see it, I have a couple options. One: leave everything as is, and either do without the microwave or crank the generator if really needed. Two: Upgrade the inverter to this 2000 watt inverter. How much more drain will the bigger inverter be on my batteries?
As always, thanks for any advice.
