JMO but powering a microwave oven using battery / inverter source power is about the quickest way I can think of for wasting valuable battery reserve that could otherwise be used so much more effectively for other purposes. I personally could care less about running the microwave oven when dry camping but if I did I'd simply power the entire trailer with our 2K genset.
As for inverter draw my own 1000 watt true sine wave inverter pulls 350 ma at idle, probably typical for this size, so it wouldn't surprise me if a 2000 watt version pulled twice that.
