Back to solar panel costs. Canada recently put a tariff on Chinese panels that seems to have added about $80 to the previous $200 price of a 100w panel. This tariff is biting the local solar dealers who have to jack up their prices. I don't know who in Canada is being "protected from those low prices"
I just got a 255w panel from "out the back" at pre-tariff and on sale but it was still $282 plus the 5% GST $14 for total $296 (Can)
The US put a tariff on last year ISTR but you can still get lower prices than here for the usual reasons (sales volume = lower price, etc)
BTW, on our "socialist medicine", it is the same as Americans have it who "belong to Kaiser". All we have is the same set- up where each province has its own "Kaiser plan"
It saves money by not having so many different plans, each with its own paperwork where the paperwork takes up money that should be going to pay for the medical care itself. Apparently, the American resistance to going that route is from the people who run those many inefficient plans that have the ear of their congress critters and top up their election funds.
