Poor design medicine cabinet - anybody upgrade?

I just bought a bunch of those to use in my overhead cabinets. My old TT had them and they worked great.
Like you say, put the lip up and it works good.
My new TT has tall overheads with a lot of wasted space without a middle shelf.
