Having search difficulties....Have a Honda EU2000. Are there any issues mounting this on the back of my motorhome and turning it on and plugging it it in to my rig while going down the highway to run ac or whatever I want?I know this is a non issue with an on board factory installed, but what about my portable.If it won't work securely mounted to my rear, what will it take to work? And if it won't work, what is the reason? Too much air, etc...I ask because I thought I read in the past that it wouldn't work, but don't know why.Tks

It will run there but is too small to run a A/C unit. :)

It runs my 7k btu in my Toyota perfectly.

Ah but it will charge batteries..... Even the chassis battery on my rig should the alternator fail. It will also run the residential fridge.Just make sure the exhaust is pointed to the rear, not into the motor home,, And make sure it is FIRMLY attached to the motor home (As in tight enough it will not walk off when you are parked for lunch) that would be the biggest danger.. LEGS 2 of them.

SOMETIMES the generator will bounce too much and cause the gasoline to slosh. It could pick up air and turn off. Someplace I was reading a forum where this was happening. The people didn't realize how much it was bouncing until they had a friend behind them watching the generator bounce up and down on the rear cargo carrier.

Please share with us if you figure out how to overcome the dying issue from the lack of gas. That could save us a lot of $$$. :)

Couple hundred miles past few days. Gen died once, when I had out of gas. It was the first try of my trip and it worked great.

So far so good.

Years back when we had a Chevy transvan, no genset, so I did like jurob & made a platform to mount the gen on that used the Reese hitch.
Had a 2500 Generac with 5 HP Briggs engine, pulled that 13,500 AC on the roof just fine, but every hour & forty five minutes it was stop & fill that little Briggs gas tank, which with a transvan & 25 gallon gas tank, stopping times almost matched up.

Oh those were the simple days back then, wish a class A could be like that.

This is the only pic I have. Used an old warn winch receiver mount and welded a plate to it and built a removable/lockable cage. Rubber between the plate and gen and then strapped to plate. Cut up a swimming pool noodle to cushion all corners of the gen.

My cross country is Thursday so I will update if I run it (mild weather).

There is a lot more movement and bounce at the rear of a rig vs. the bed of a pick up.

I'm not saying it won't work but if bounce is reported to be an issue, than locating genset on the rear may make have a negative impact
