When I first purchased my rig. THe dealer advised me to always unplug before using genset and vise versa.
We agreed the transfer switch should take care of things, but his point was safe than sorry. He'd seen to many issues....that in theory should not have happened but did.
As much as I generally don't trust the dealer I heeded his advice.
