Many if not most 30 amp transfer switches
Have just one double pole relay
Not the two relays people keep saying
Normally closed is shore power, normally open is energized and close when the generator power is on
I've had three differnt 30 amp rigs, one had no generator
Two had single relay transfer switches
One of the three had a switch in the closet to choose which a/C unit would be powered by shore power, because 30 amp could only power one a/ C
They do fail we had another post with somebody who did this with his prOclass A last year?
Using generator to power a/c pulled into the RV park and plugged into shore and let out the smoke
It is an automatic switch so you don't have to move the cord
It is not designed for and should not be used to switch active power source with heavy loads
