I did return it to Home Depot for a refund. I wasn't interested in having this one repaired, as the entire innards of the machine -- electronics, everything -- had been saturated with raw gas. Most of that gas evaporated of course, but who knows what residuals it left behind in the electronics, or what other potential harm it did? Wasn't worth taking a chance.
To their credit, Home Depot refunded my money with no questions asked. They just didn't want me to tell other folks this story, on their website.
