TVs have pretty low resolution
But sometimes that not a bad deal. 1920X1080 is common. As screens get bigger, text sizes and other features get bigger using the common resolution. Sometimes the OS doesn't scale well on very hi res gear. I've had high resolution laptops where everything was very tiny with only moderate success in dealing with it through operating system.
When he mentioned eyesight issues, I mentioned the 27" size. At 1920X1080 on 27 everythings nice and big right out of the box. I have a 47" TV also serving as monitor on hdmi input. Standard 1920X1080 resolution-absolutely no concerns.
