I have the same 3100 and it starts my A/C no problem. Into my 3rd camping, hunting, ice fishing season with no issues (I did replace the spark plug after break in a with name brand) I also have a Yamaha 3000iseb for the cabin, and using an iPhone app (probably not scientific grade) there is marginal sound difference between the 2 @ 21 feet.
