Hi everyone,
RoyB,
I think the genny hours are the same everywhere. I'm from Long Island, NY so never even heard of BLM till I got out here. Not for nothin'....I drove for almost two hours in western Nevada without seeing another car! It very spread out here and the southwest is amazing! I have added 2nd batt and now trying to figure out inverter thing.
JiminDenver,
Now that you mention it, no 12V lights were on and batteries were full so it probably had no draw. I will have to try it again when I get a chance. Loud well....its subjective. Web site says, 56/65 no load/full load. I will say though you can stand next to it and have a conversation easily you are not gonna run this thing outside of genny hours! I will post up once I get to use it some more.
Pianotuna,
It says 3000 Watts continuous / 3100 Watts surge, did I miss something? That hard start cap install was literally just other then unscrewing the cover, just pushing on two terminals, one zip tie and screwing cover back on. Is the Dometic one different?
Popeyemth,
"we use the genny for rest stops and lunch breaks to power AC and microwave/coffeemaker, seldom in campgrounds. healthy meals while traveling and comfortable rests with AC make the genny worthwhile"
My thoughts exactly! Plus if batts die in the middle of the night wife and 3yr old don't freeze!
Mlts22,
Thanks I will try that, of fab a mount for the cargo rack on back of 5er.
Greenrvgreen,
I was surprised too. The website said it would start my 13,500btu A/C, but it when straight into overload. didn't even think about starting it. Maybe it is just an old A/C? It starts it now!
Bikendan,
I think you're right, I might give it a go anyway or maybe try to make simple box with vent and insulation.
8iron,
Good to know you've had no issues with yours, I hope for the same. I really think my a/c is just old and tired. Do there get harder to start with age? I know I did!
Thank everyone for your input!
Billy
