I have the Powerhouse 3100i and have no problems starting my AC at 13.5kBTU with no heavy duty start cap. :h
I plan on using it for some primitive camping that I MAY do on occasion and for power back ups if I lose power at home.
I planned on using it labor day weekend out here in Kentucky. I did learn one thing that is important for me about using a genny…due to heat and humidity I am glad I was able to get a site with power that was a walkup and trade out my primitive site. If they have time restrictions on running a generator and I am able to have electricity 24/7 I will opt out and take the site with electric. I bought this trailer to be comfortable and not have to rely on batteries, interverters and solar panels. I realized that boon docking is something that is not for me, I like the conveniences of power and water hookups for the quick weekend camping trips that I normally take. I like the idea of backing into a site, hooking it up and going on my merry way.
I start this generator monthly and would recommend that you use a fuel stabilizer. The feature I like is the remote start and stop and the economy mode. This generator may be a bit quieter than a contractor type but the noise is still pretty significant, all in all I am pleased that I bought this unit.
