Since I plan to run off solar panels, the Dometic device would be better for me.
Every inverter generator I've seen does rate in VA. Yours may be different.

You may be able to use one of these instead of the special Dometic one. That link leads me to believe it is a simply added to the circuit just like the Supco. Pull the cover off the side of your unit and look at the schematic.
I certainly hope I have the stated wattage available. Everyone seems to change up the calulations to be able to say what they what you to hear.
